Wireless Protected Access
WPA is a type of wireless security created in order to address the flaws found in WEP. It has been successful in doing so, and, so far, there are no known security risks in it.
WPA2
WPA2 is a minor update to WPA which is significantly more secure. However, it is not crucial that it be used, since no security holes have been found in WPA.
